Presence of Trees

Trees grow slowly, and so have the roots of this show, developing quietly over the long and distinguished careers of these two important Nova Scotia artists, based in rural Antigonish County since the early 70’s. The interests and talents of LINDA JOHNS and ANNA SYPEREK have led them in different artistic directions but their fascination with trees has been a part of almost every phase of their creative practice. In the spacious Port Saint John Gallery, located in the Saint John Arts Centre, Saint John, NB, this two-month long show will showcase the rich contrasting expression of these two exceptional artists over time through their painting, printmaking and drawing. There will be seventy three different works on display, the majority for sale, covering a span of forty-five years or more.
