GOLDEN ARTIST COLORS is an employee-owned business that produces high quality paints – acrylic, oil and watercolours. We are pleased to introduce you to their acrylics through a free, on-line demo via Zoom. The Zoom platform can be accessed through a link we will provide to you. Participants will receive free samples of GOLDEN products.

The GOLDEN virtual demo is a fun and informative 1 ½ hour Zoom session, which covers acrylics A-Z. Including videos of products in action and live demonstrations, the demo will cover a broad range of GOLDEN products, including:
– the different kinds of pigments and how they affect colour mixing; using different primaries; hues; the difference between the blacks and whites; iridescent and interference colors
– the different lines of acrylic paint and where and how to use each kind – Heavy Body for texture; Fluids for thin applications or a watercolor-like look; High Flow for an ink consistency; OPEN slow drying acrylics for extended blending, glazing and printmaking; and the brand new, velvety matte SoFlat acrylics
– the huge line of gels and mediums, the difference between types, and how to use them to change your paint consistency, create texture, enhance transparency, and extend your paints to save money
– molding pastes, and how to use them to create textured and unique painting surfaces
– the basics of varnishing
At the end of the demo, participants can sign up to get a free sample kit and product information folder sent to them directly from GOLDEN!
ANDREA WARREN is a visual artist and arts educator based out of Hello Studios in Ottawa. Since 2008, she has been a Working Artist for GOLDEN Artist Colors, a paint company based out of upstate New York, providing lectures and workshops on artist materials at universities, galleries and art associations across central and eastern Canada. Warren studied visual art and philosophy at Trinity Western University (Langley, BC), and has been involved in the field of art and healthcare since 2010 – working with non-profits to provide art programs for kids, seniors, mental health organizations, and marginalized communities in the Ottawa area. Her work has been featured in publications such as Create! Magazine and Art Ascent Magazine and is available at Santini Gallery in Ottawa’s Little Italy.
