What’s new at Peer Gallery?

2021 marks Peer Gallery of Contemporary Art’s 20th year in Lunenburg.
Our 14 members have been showing consistently even through these difficult COVID times.

AND NOW a new focus exhibit

‘Ink & Glaze’

featuring the work of gallery members
Anne Tweed and Carol Morrow
is set to open on October 28th will explore parallel challenges for these two artists.

Both are using the layering of materials (inks or glazes) to produce unique and unpredictable visual effects.
The moment of truth is when the kiln is opened, or the print is pulled, and the beautiful and serendipitous results are revealed.
Using monotype printmaking as her medium, Anne continues her exploration of colour and mark making
to create vibrant, non-objective images inspired by the natural world in this new series of work.
Carol has produced a series of vessels representing a panoply of fierce women and mighty girls.
Starting with simple vase forms that are altered and modified with text and lush layered glazes
she shows her chosen figures clothed in the power of their words and actions.

This exciting exhibition is complemented by a smaller show of work from the other 12 members of the cooperative.

The show runs daily from noon to 5 pm – October 28 to November 9
Peer is located at 166 Lincoln Street, Lunenburg
