When you enter the Captain’s House Gallery this season, you will be wrapped in the vintage quilts of Polly Greene. She is in her early 90s now, and this is the last of her work that began at NSCAD 50 years ago. She was part of Sherbrooke Village Museum’s beginnings, and stayed for 25 years. Polly exhibited and won awards across North America, and has been a teacher to countless students. All the work is for sale.
Carol Hansen’s new paintings will be exhibited in the back room at the Captain’s House Gallery. To celebrate a century of horticulture in Canada, this is The Year of the Garden 2022, encouraging Canadians to ‘Live the Garden Life’. Carol’s art depicts both wild and cultivated gardens, and the tangle of nature is what she enjoys painting.
The Captain’s House Gallery, Chester, NS OPEN: WED – SAT 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
