DATE CHANGE DUE TO HURRICANE! Now on Saturday, Oct 21st!
Join artist Twila Robar-DeCoste in this exciting and fast paced workshop using a painting knife and acrylic paints. If you can butter toast, you can easily learn to paint with a palette(painting) knife!
Acrylic colours dry quickly so, the planning is important and the painting decisive. It is a great way to get over tightness and develop broad handling of paint. Some brush work will be done to enhance the painting. You will create a seascape similar to the one pictured above.
Materials required:
Canvas- panel, stretched or hardboard- 6″x8″ or 8″x10″
Palette- Titanium white, Ultramarine or Cobalt Blue, Cadmium Yellow medium, Burnt Sienna or Burnt Umber, Naphthol Red, or warm and cool red choices.
Painting knife, triangular blade, bent shaft preferred. Flat palette knives can be used but are more difficult to handle well in this technique.
Paper towels, plastic to cover work surface, palette, water containers.
Some knives and colours will be supplied.
