ArtWorks East Samhain Mask-Making Workshop: Treasure Mountain

ArtWorks East Samhain Mask-Making Workshop: Treasure Mountain

Join Patty MacIsaac as she guides you through making your own traditional mask. Inspired by Celtic Samhain culture, using natural elements and fabric materials, you will create your own masked creature.

In Celtic mythology, masks are rich in symbolism. They often represent various deities, spirits, and the duality of existence. Masks serve the dual purpose of concealment and revelation, allowing wearers to embody the entities they represent.

Samhain and Celtic traditions flow very much tie into modern day Halloween traditions. So, if attending this workshop, feel free to tie in old and new styles to your mask creation. We will have plenty of materials to use, but you are encouraged to think ahead about what sort of mask you want to create and look for natural elements around your home to bring and include.

This is a family-friendly event at Treasure Mountain, Boylston. Join us again on October 19th to participate in a Lantern lit parade/walk on the property of Treasure Mountain. (more details to come about the Oct 19th event).
