Maritime Art Info is run by me, Isobel Hamilton. I am an artist living and working in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia. I’m originally from Scotland; my husband and I emigrated here in 2013.
This site has been designed for artists, galleries and organisations, and for those interested in art in the Maritimes. The aim is to allow artists to buy and sell and find open calls, for galleries to publicise shows, organisations to reach artists, and members of the public learn about the art community, events and classes in their area. Please share the word about the site and mention it to anyone who might find it useful.
I set up Maritime Art Info as a replacement for the wonderful Maritime Art List, which was closed in 2021. The Art List was a listings website and email service that was such a valuable resource for the art commiunity in the Maritimes I couldn’t let it disappear! (I got my first entry into a group show at a gallery thanks to Maritime Art List). I’ve been building websites since the mid 1990s so thought I was probably ideally placed to create a replacement. I hope it proves to be just as useful! If there are any other features you think would be useful to have on this site please let me know using the contact form.
