Acrylic painting with Zehava Power (6 week course)
This course will accommodate artists at different levels of experience.
Beginners are welcome to come and work side by side with more experienced artists. It only enriches the experience.
Each session will begin with a painting demonstration that will show different techniques to handle the versatile medium of acrylic paint.
Topics taught are: Colour theory, Tonal value, Edge, Negative shapes, Composition, Editing and more.
Demos often include: making colour recipes, painting a structure, working on a black canvas, painting a floral, and approaching complex scenes such as crowds.
Participants may choose to work on their own paintings or paint that lesson’s demo, while I will be offering personal feedback and assistance to all participants individually.
No homework is required between sessions, but practicing is recommended.
Most lessons contain group feedback sessions where we all interact and discuss what works and what doesn’t in the various pieces created, and why and how to remedy the different issues.
As always my goal is to give students the tools and confidence necessary to move through obstacles and concerns in their painting, loosen up or just try new methods in a safe and supportive environment.
Supplies: I do my best to keep your gear’s cost and weight to a minimum. I encourage my students to use fewer pigments. There are several table easels for students to use here, in case you don’t own
