Ocean Day Celebration

World Oceans Day is on Sunday, June 8th. The Nova Spiritus Society is celebrating by hosting an outdoor open studio event from 1-4pm at Pomquet Beach, 432 Pomquet Beach Road.
Bring your notebook, paints, guitar, or knitting, and create some art on the beach! There is no fee, no rules about what you create, and no pressure to share your work. This is a casual meet-up for the creative community to appreciate and celebrate the ocean.
All are welcome:
Visual artists
Craftspeople
Writers
Musicians
Dancers
Amateurs
Professionals
Hobbyists
Families
Why join us?
1. Art doesn’t have to happen indoors: a new setting can spur new ideas.
2. Art doesn’t have to happen alone: meet other local creatives and share inspiration.
3. It’s a joyful way to celebrate World Oceans Day.
4. It’s a good excuse to go to the beach!
What to expect:
We’ll be there to welcome and introduce you. Otherwise, this is an unstructured event. There is no schedule, just a scheduled time for us to all be at the beach at the same time.
Please bring your own supplies, materials, or equipment.
You are encouraged—but not required—to share your art with others. (If all you want to do is write while listening to the waves, you don’t need to chat with everyone else.)
Pomquet Beach is a provincial park. It has parking and outhouses.
