Description
Dependent on funding through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, the Administrative Assistant is an entry level position suited for a passionate individual interested in developing skills in art administration. They will work closely with and report to the Executive Director on providing administrative support for daily programs and operations.
Parrsboro Creative is a not-for-profit art organization located in a growing rural community on the spectacular Minas Basin & Bay of Fundy and the largest plein air festival organizer in Canada, awarding cash and product prizes to winning competitors from all over North America. Parrsboro Creative also runs the Cultural Campus from May to October annually, partnering with affiliate organizations to offer seasonal, cultural courses and workshops in various artistic disciplines.
*(Start date and schedule to be determined with successful candidate, but the hours will generally be worked daytime, Monday-Friday). Additional flexibility to attend weekend and/or evening events as required is needed.)
Please note that this position is dependent on funding from Canada Summer Jobs, and interested applicants must be eligible through the program in order to be considered:

Key responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant include but are not limited to:
Skills and Expectations
Communications:

Composing and designing monthly newsletters to Membership and Subscribers in Squarespace Marketing

Maintaining and updating website in Squarespace platform

Maintaining and updating database with contacts

Receive calls and answering enquiries by phone, email and social media

Writing and distributing news releases

Creating and promoting social media posts in Hootsuite, a social media management platform for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
Operations & Support for Programs

Archive documents and maintain records of programs according to filing system in hard and digital copy

Assist in general purchasing and bookkeeping for office activities

Liaise with vendors and suppliers for programs

Assist Executive Director with grant research and funding opportunities

Assist students with registration for Cultural Campus Courses & Workshops

Assist with pre-production tasks of cultural events such as the plein air festival, courses, and pop-up art fairs
Compensation
This position is full-time (35 hours per week) at $14/hour.
