Prairies to Ports – paintings by Jacqueline Faye Miller and Peter Ollerhead

The Prow Gallery, Halifax, NS — Saskatchewan artist Jacqueline Faye Miller and Newfoundland and Labrador artist Peter Ollerhead invite you to Prairies to Ports, a new exhibition celebrating the landscapes of Saskatchewan and Newfoundland through distinct yet complementary perspectives. Though separated by thousands of kilometers, both artists share a connection to the Canadian landscape and capture their love of “place” using oil on canvas.
Peter’s Newfoundland landscapes are vibrant and expressive, using bold colour and energetic palette-knife work to capture the rugged beauty and wildness of the island. Jacqueline’s Saskatchewan landscapes take a more abstracted approach, using expressive brushwork, impasto, and softer, neutral tones inspired by the Boreal Transition and Central Aspen Parkland regions.
